TOUR ITINERARY
Brief Overview: PALCS families will learn the culture of the ancient Greeks by visiting
historic sites that make up the foundation or our democracy.

Day 1: Departure from the USA-PHILADELPHIA Airport
Day 2: Athens Upon arrival in Athens, meet your CHA Tour Director at the airport and proceed via motorcoach to your hotel. Later, begin your orientation of Greece’s ancient capital city as you explore Syntagma Square with your Tour Director during a CHA Walking Tour.
Day 3: Athens-(Athens by Night & Greek Taverna) Your guided tour of Athens highlights the Old Royal Palace, the Wingless Victory, the Academy and the University. You’ll also explore the wonders of the ancient Acropolis, site of the city’s most remarkable Greek ruins, where you’ll visit the Parthenon and the Theatre of Dionysius. Sightseeing ends with a visit to the National Archaeological Museum to explore its impressive collection of ancient art including the Mask of Agamemnon. (If not open, you’ll visit the Acropolis Museum.) Tonight, you may opt for a glorious drive through Athens followed by dinner at a local Greek taverna.
Day 4: Athens-Corinth-Mycenae-Epidaurus-Athens Ancient history and mythology come to life as you journey to Corinth, founded in prehistoric times, to see the Temple of Apollo. Drive along the scenic Gulf of Corinth en route to Mycenae for visits to the Lion Gate, the Tombs of Agamemnon and Clytemnestra and the Circle Grave. End your day with a visit to the remarkable 2,300-year-old Amphitheatre of Epidaurus to hear its amazing acoustics. Return to Athens.
Day 5: Athens-(Delphi) Savor a free day to explore Athens as you like or consider an optional excursion to Delphi, the ancient center of the universe, where its Oracle once prophesied men’s destinies.
Day 6: Athens-Three Day Greek Island Cruise-Mykonos
Early today, drive to the port of Piraeus where your Grecian adventure
continues on your included Three-day Cruise to the Greek Islands.
(Optional shore excursions may be purchased on board.) Your first stop
on your Aegean cruise is the legendary island of Mykonos, famed for its
windmills. Day 7: Cruising-Kusadasi-Patmos
Cruise to Kusadasi, a busy commercial harbor, from which you may opt to
visit the ancient Greek city of Ephesus, now part of Turkey. Proceed to
the tiny island of Patmos where St. John wrote the Book of Revelation. Day 8: Cruising-Heraklion-Santorini
Cruise to Heraklion on the island of Crete, the largest of the Greek
islands, where the ancient Minoan civilization once flourished. Later,
proceed to Santorini where little white houses hang on top of steep
rocks. Day 9: Athens Disembark your cruise and proceed by motorcoach to Athens for a final free day in Greece. Day 10: Departure for the USA-Return to PHILADELPHIA Airport CLICK HERE TO REGISTER.
